At our apartments in Overland Park we offer a kid friendly environment for professionals at Signature Place. Try this idea for making a princess bed for your little princess as a fun decorating tip and to make the princess happy and comfortable in her room.

Start by having a sheet of ¾ inch birch plywood cut into pieces, two side panels at 22 by 28 inches, a top panel at 36 by 52 inches, the bottom panel is 28 by 48, a back panel is 48 by 13.25 inches, and a divider at 28 by 12.5 inches.

Screw these pieces together. Add a fabric skirt using a staple gun to hide the plywood from sight, as well as books or clothes your princess may want to store underneath. Toss the mattress on top and add fine linens deserving of a princess.

To finish the project, hang a canopy from the ceiling and string up Christmas tree lights to add an air of mystique and fantasy to the princess bed. Your daughter is sure to enjoy this and feel like a princess!
